In 1987, Aminuddin bin Haji Yahaya attained professional qualifications from the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the United Kingdom. Subsequently, he commenced his career with the international audit firm Ernst & Young (EY) in 1988, initially as an audit assistant and later progressing to the role of audit senior.
During his tenure at EY, Aminuddin played a crucial role in auditing a diverse range of corporations, spanning various industries such as manufacturing, trading, construction, plantation, oil & gas, securities, financial institutions, hotels, and statutory bodies. His responsibilities extended to the meticulous examination of companies, from small enterprises to large corporations.
After his initial involvement in auditing, Aminuddin transitioned to the tax department, where he focused on matters pertaining to tax compliance. His role encompassed providing tax advisory services, addressing issues related to company restructuring, amalgamation, withholding tax, Real Property Gains Tax, and double taxation for medium to large corporations.
In February 1994, Aminuddin embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining the Securities Commission as Assistant Finance Manager. In this capacity, his duties included the establishment of financial systems and procedures within the Accounts Department, along with the oversight of the entire operational department.
In 1996, upon obtaining the license from the Ministry of Finance (MOF), he took a significant step by establishing his own firm in collaboration with his partner, now recognized as Jamal, Amin & Partners. Fast forward 28 years, the firm continues to thrive resiliently, and he has ascended to the position of Chairman.
